Brunch, man, it’s a Brooklyn thing.

Today myself, Lety & Regina embarked (in a car!) all the way to Williamsburg with a couple friends to enjoy our first real BRUNCH as Brooklynites at Brooklyn Star. The dimly lit restaurant filled pretty quickly with your average Brooklyn hipsters (typical) as we sat at a cozy wooden table.

We started off with a pitcher of John Daly (a wonderful concoction of iced tea vodka and lemonade) and 3 seriously sweet donuts (one glazed, one chocolate frosted, and one cream filled with roasted nuts) all homemade.

We sipped some water out of mason jars (again, typically Williamsburg) and ordered our meals. It was hard to choose given the options but we all settled on one of two dishes; the Apple Johnny Cakes, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, & Hash Browns or the Fried Chicken and Waffles with a half grapefruit baked and covered with a torched caramelized crispy film (AHHHHMAZING, especially given my recent love for baked citrus).

We all agreed that we need to go back, seriously guys, this place is completely underrated!

  1. Love the logo! I bet a witty brilliant woman inspired such a logo… I could go for some bruleed grapefruit!

  2. Wow, wonderful weblog layout! How lengthy have you ever been running a blog for? you make blogging look easy. The overall look of your site is great, let alone the content!

    • Hi Lynette,
The post is called “Brunch, man, It’s a Brooklyn thing” because when I moved to Brooklyn I soon learned that brunch is very popular here, unlike the other places I’ve lived! So happy you enjoyed reading!
